چکیده
We report new Ks-band secondary eclipse observations for the hot-Jupiters WASP-19b and WASP-43b. Using the IRIS2 infrared camera on the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT), we measured significant secondary eclipses for both planets, with depths of 0.287+0.020 −0.020 per cent and 0.181+0.027 −0.027 per cent for WASP-19b and WASP-43b, respectively. We compare the observations to atmosphere models from the VSTAR line-by-line radiative transfer code, and examine the effect of C/O abundance, top layer haze, and metallicities on the observed spectra. We performed a series of signal injection and recovery exercises on the observed light curves to explore the detection thresholds of the AAT+IRIS2 facility. We find that the optimal photometric precision is achieved for targets brighter than Kmag = 9, for which eclipses as shallow as 0.05 per cent are detectable at >5σ significance.

Ground - Based Transit Spectroscopy of the Hot - Jupiter Wasp - 19 B in the near - Infrared
We present ground-based measurements of the transmission and emission spectra of the hot-Jupiter WASP-19b in nine spectroscopic channels from 1.25 to 2.35μm. The measurements are based on the combined analysis of time-series spectroscopy obtained during two complete transits and two complete secondary eclipses of the planet. The observations were performed with the MMIRS instrument on the Magel...
متن کاملSPITZER PHASE CURVES OF THE HIGHLY IRRADIATED HOT JUPITERS WASP-19b AND HAT-P-7b
We analyze full-orbit phase curve observations of the transiting hot Jupiters WASP-19b and HATP-7b at 3.6 and 4.5 μm obtained using the Spitzer Space Telescope. For WASP-19b, we measure secondary eclipse depths of 0.485% ± 0.024% and 0.584% ± 0.029% at 3.6 and 4.5 μm, which are consistent with a single blackbody with effective temperature 2372 ± 60 K. The measured 3.6 and 4.5 μm secondary eclip...

متن کاملInfrared Eclipses of the Strongly Irradiated Planet Wasp-33b, and Oscillations of Its Host Star
We observe two secondary eclipses of the strongly irradiated transiting planet WASP-33b, in the Ks band at 2.15μm, and one secondary eclipse each at 3.6μm and 4.5μm using Warm Spitzer. This planet orbits an A5V δ-Scuti star that is known to exhibit low amplitude non-radial p-mode oscillations at about 0.1% semi-amplitude. We detect stellar oscillations in all of our infrared eclipse data, and a...

Secondary eclipse spectroscopy provides invaluable insights into the temperatures and compositions of exoplanetary atmospheres. We carry out a systematic temperature and abundance retrieval analysis of eight exoplanets (HD189733b, HD149026b, GJ436b, WASP-12b, WASP-19b, WASP-43b, TrES-2b, and TrES-3b) observed in secondary eclipse using a combination of spaceand ground-based facilities.
